What’s a Seleccionista? It’s a made up word, of course. It’s like a barrista, only with less foam. It’s a word invented to make it sound like Monika’s completely in charge of picking films for FLIC. She’s one of many but she’s on the board so she gets to bear the title of Seleccionista. Sounds a little foreign, kind of like ‘Monika’ if you say it right (mo-nee’-ka). Go ahead, suggest a film for her and her co-horts….who knows, you might get the chance to join the fray.
Danice Crawford, Shepherd
Corralling volunteers and performers alike, Danice makes it easy to be a part of FLIC. Want to get on FLIC’s stage? Cozy up to her. Um, or just email her. A little shy about the whole stage thing but think you’d do just fine selling tickets at the door? Get cozier, because this has just got to be the cushiest volunteer gig around. Two hours of pushing broom buys an 8×12 4-bit room…if you’re in a Roger Miller song. At FLIC, light labor and a big smile gets you a party, a movie, dinner and a drink.
